I chose to come to BYU because I like the values and atmosphere that BYU has as a church university. There are tons of resources and opportunities available to BYU students, including quality professors and academic programs and a great variety of extracurricular activities, teams, and clubs. The grounds are gorgeous. I have a lot of extended family in the Provo area, and I liked the idea of going away from home for college, but still having people around that I could turn to if I had a problem. It was a combination of all these things that helped me decide that this was the university I wanted to attend, and I’ve never regretted it. I’ve had a really good experience here at BYU.

As a freshman at BYU one of the challenges I faced was keeping track of all the things I had to do. There seemed to be a never-ending stream of assignments to do, papers to write, tests to take, and social events to attend. I realized that I could not get by on just a day-to-day basis. I needed to plan ahead and have a bigger vision of all the things that needed to be done and when. So I bought a calendar. More like a big day planner that let me see a month at a glance and where I could write all the due dates and exams from my class syllabi for the whole semester and social events as they came up. This allowed me to keep track of everything I had to do and let me see weeks that would be really busy with tests and papers so I could get started studying or researching ahead of time. This made everything go much more smoothly.
