I chose to come to BYU for so many reasons! It was close to home, it has been my dream school since I was a little girl, it is a great school and you get to learn about the church while being at school. What could be better than that? I love it here, it is WONDERFUL!!!

The biggest challenge I had as a freshman is not getting the grades I thought that I deserved. I remember when I took my first test; I studied for hours and then ended up with a grade I had never received in my life before. I called my mom, discouraged, embarrassed and disappointed. She gave me a lot of advice but one of the things she said is, "If you continue working hard, the grades will come." That never left my memory. Through my first year I continued to work as hard as I could and my mom was right my grades started to come. I still have so much to work on and I still want my grades to continue to rise. However my solution was simple, I just had to put my shoulder to the wheel and pushed along. Overcoming challenges is always challenging but the phrase, "Put your shoulder to the wheel and push along" is such a great one and can apply to any challenge you are dealing with. Never give up!
