Major: Chemistry Education
I chose to come to BYU for two major reasons: first, I wanted somewhere where I would be in a good environment. There is a very good spirit on BYU's campus. Second, I wanted to go to a school that had high standards of education. BYU could offer me both of these. Although I had a few other options, I prayed about this major decision in my life and got a witness that I needed to go to BYU.
Not so much first semester but the second semester of my freshman year I started feeling extremely homesick. I tried talking to my family every day on the phone, got a blessing from my bishopric and tried to keep busy. One of the things that helped me the most was giving service to others. I found that by concentrating on making others feel better, I felt better myself.
