First-Year Reading

Join over five thousand new students in a BYU academic tradition:  the First-Year Reading program. This collection of selected Devotionals from Church and BYU leaders will introduce you to the Mission of BYU and Aims of a BYU Education.

 

As you read, you’ll find insights that will help you as you begin your journey at BYU. Remember that your first semester at BYU will be an important time for you to cultivate deep spiritual and academic roots, and these readings will help you develop the habits you need to hit the ground running at BYU. We also hope that by reading these devotionals, you’ll make a commitment to join the BYU community and attend Devotionals and Forums each Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
