Transfer Student Information

The transition from one college to another is an entirely different experience than that of a new student just entering the university. For that reason, we have designed meetings to specifically address your special needs as a transfer student attending BYU for the first time. We recommend the following meetings to help you navigate as you prepare for your own kind of BYU experience.

Transfer Student Meeting Important information and resources will be available to help you understand how your credits have been transferred, and how to fulfill religion requirements. This is your opportunity to get the essential information every transfer student needs to know about where they have been and where they are going.

College & Department Meetings Attend the meetings being offered by the college offering your major – or the field of study you are considering. Be sure you understand parameters of the limited enrollment programs they offer, get the MAPS the programs you are interested in, and stop by their college advisement center. If you have not declared a major yet, you will want to attend the Open Major meeting being hosted by the University Advisement Center.

Financial Aid & Scholarship Meetings Students receiving financial aid and scholarships will want to attend these meetings. They provide the essential information to maintain eligibility and maintain compliance.

Specialized Group Meetings Returned Missionaries, International or Multicultural students, student athletes and band students all have their own meetings. This is an opportunity to obtain the specialized information you will need as a transfer student and meet others on campus with your own interests.

Transfer students are welcome to attend all Orientation activities. Be sure to check the Orientation schedule for the times and dates, and make sure you register so we know you are coming!
