New Transfer Student Orientation

Congratulations and welcome to BYU! Begin your formal experience at BYU with New Student Orientation (NSO), held just prior to the start of classes. You'll receive an email when your registration opens about 2 months before the event. All new students are expected to attend.

The purpose of NSO is to:

  • Welcome new students to the BYU community of disciple scholars
  • Help new students become familiar with campus resources
  • Connect new students with other students, faculty, and campus personnel

Typical activities include:

  • Welcome from BYU Administration
  • Campus and Library Tours
  • Getting to Know Your Major Meetings
  • Special interest meetings (Major Advisement, Pre-med/law/business/dental, ROTC, or Honors Program)
  • BYU Bling: planner, lunch, and cinch bag, to name a few

NSO will get you off to a great start at BYU. We look forward to seeing you!
