Perspectives of BYU

Celebrate 150-years of BYU by getting new perspectives of BYU.
There are two types of activities that you can participate in during the Perspectives of BYU event. Sign-up for an RSVP activity or come join us for any of our Drop In activities.

RSVP Activities

RSVP for activities is CLOSED. An email has be sent out informing you of which RSVP activity you are signed up for. In addition to the RSVP activities please join us for our drop-in activities.

Broadcasting Building Tour: Step into the world of media with a behind-the-scenes tour of BYU Broadcasting. Visit the places where they film Studio C and more classic BYUTV productions.

Culinary Crawl- LIMITED SPOTS STILL OPEN: Come to Brigham Square between 4:00-5:15pm to join a tour. Taste your way across campus with stops highlighting favorite BYU eats.

Carillon Bell Tower Tour: Climb inside the iconic Centennial Carillon Bell Tower and learn its history. Hear the chimes up close and take in a panoramic view of campus.

Marriott Center Tour: Step inside the home of BYU's Basketball teams. Learn its history, explore behind-the-scenes areas, and experience the excitement that fills this beloved arena on game day.

Drop In Activities: 4-8pm

Cosmo Meet ’N Greet (4:30–5:30 pm) - Brigham Square
Snap a photo, get a high-five, and hang out with BYU’s legendary mascot, Cosmo the Cougar.

Planetarium Showings (4:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm) - Royden G. Derrick Planetarium
Journey through the stars and explore the wonders of the universe in the Royden G. Derrick Planetarium.
4:00pm- Cosmic Mashups
5:00pm- Unseen Universe
6:00pm- Our Creator's Cosmos
7:00pm- Secret Lives of Stars


Provo Bus Tours (4:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm) - North of the MOA
Hop on for a guided bus tour and see the best sights of Provo from a new perspective.

Museum of Art (4:00–8:00 pm) - MOA
Wander through inspiring exhibits and discover world-class art right on campus. Students wearing the New Student Orientation wristband can gat a free art print.

Bean Museum (4:00–8:00 pm) - Bean Life Science Museum
Explore fascinating animal exhibits and learn about wildlife from around the globe.

Museum of Peoples & Cultures Pop-Up (4:00–8:00 pm) - JFSB Quad
Step into the stories, artifacts, and traditions of cultures from across the world.

Hike the Y (4:00–8:00 pm) - Shuttle from Wilkinson Student Center southeast roundabout
Make the climb to BYU’s iconic Y and take in sweeping views of Utah Valley. Shuttles will be every 15 minutes. The last shuttle will leave the trailhead to go back to BYU at 8:00pm.

Swig (4:00–8:00 pm) - Both Provo locations
Use the voucher you received during Thursday lunch to cool off with a refreshing drink from Swig, a local favorite.

First Generation Dinner (4:00-5:00pm) - 3228 WSC
Calling all first generation students to come join the BYU First-Gen club for dinner and mingling.

International Cinema (6:00 pm) - 250 KMBL
Come watch Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke. "On a journey to find the cure for a Tatarigami's curse, Ashitaka finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest gods and Tatara, a mining colony. In this quest he also meets Princess Mononoke, the human companion of the wolf god, Moro."

Women’s Volleyball Game (7:00 pm) - Smith Fieldhouse
Cheer on the Cougars as they take the court for a night of exciting volleyball action. New students get in free with New Student Orientation wristband. Space is limited.

Women’s Soccer Game (7:00 pm) - South Field
Experience the thrill of BYU Women’s Soccer under the stadium lights. New students get in free with New Student Orientation wristband. Space is limited.
